Looking at getting a set of Goodyear Dura trac 265/75/16 For out 03 Rubicon, We do not have a lift on on it.
The tire spec of outside diameter of 31.7. Can I get away with out any suspension mods, if not what is the best suggestion without getting too radical, this is my wife's run around play vehicle. Current tire size is 245/75/16.

The largest size a TJ ever came from the factory with was an inch shorter. And that tire barely fits. For a 32", at least add a 1.25 body lift or put in a 1" spacer, a longer shock and a bit of bump stop extension.

On the stock rims, no problem on the street. I have no idea how well they might articulate but for all around wheeling, you should not have a problem. DTs are a great all around tire.

Mine are 235/85 R16 same 31.7 diameter but a little thinner @ 9.25. Rubicon is completely stock and I've had no problems on or off road

The thinner tire may be the difference. The problem is fully stuffing a tire where even the stock Rubicon tire size will just catch the outer lip of the front fender sheet metal.

I actually just bought some for my JKU because you guys had recommended them so highly. I had them put on Saturday and then drove to the Smoky's on Sunday. They ride really nice on the highway and we had no problems in 3" of snow. Unfortunately, 441 up to the Gap was closed, so we could only drive towards Cade's Cove. I never had these on my TJ, but I'm extremely pleased with them.

I've had Duratracs on both my '03 TJ and '04 LJ for last 5 years or so. I use both year round in all conditions except serious wheeling and they've been great. My TJ has 245/75/16's on stock suspension. My LJ has 265/75/16's with a 2" lift. I've never tried but I don't think I could put the larger tires on the TJ without some rubbing. I'm sure someone on the forum has tried it though.

Duratrac's have been my favorite set of tires. Quiet, decent mileage, amazing traction in the snow and ice, and held up really well to the rocks. Only reason I didnt run them again is because they do not come in a 35".
