What did you do to your TJ today?

why do you not like it? I’ve had them before and I prefer the filtration system.
The K&N filter passes much more silica into the engine and clogs faster, with no reasonable increase in power (12 hp at 4600 RPM). Not to mention it's not as protected from water as the stock box. I didn't know this until I read up on some research that @Chris shared that was done on a few different brands of intakes. I've since put the stock box back on and ordered an AC Delco filter for it.

Correct. The aftermarket cold air intakes sold for these 4.0s do more harm than they do good.

Nice radio. Love the M508’s!

Holy Cow! look at the eagle eyes on you! :) I don't think I could have identified that radio from that picture!

I loved the M508's look, I don't think you can get a better looking head unit. But I wasn't a big fan of its performance - kind of laggy. I replaced it with an Alpine, but the jury is still out - I drove it for the first time with the new radio this weekend. I still have it, might put the M508 up for sale here if I decide I like the Alpine better.

Most everyone around here has an aftermarket deck in their TJ. Everything else looks stock, so I'm hoping an inexpensive deck doesn't raise the profile much.

Not so much what I did today but over the last 10 days or so.
I removed the rear seat and built a storage shelf/dog platform. I just added carpet and tie down points to it this weekend.
Built a tailgate table for camping too.
Upgraded my bumper lights and headlights to LED and shortened the bumper while I was at it.
I've been making several interior mods like adding a Daystar dash storage add-on, device holder for the Gaia navigation phone and moved my CB to the top of the roll cage.
All kinds of mods coming that I'll post up.

Had a lot of rain in my area as of late and the Jeep started smelling a wet dog, so it was a time for a full interior cleaning. Shampooed and vacuumed the carpets and cleaned the seats and dash

During the process I noticed I had some interior rust under the driver's door and some rust on the floor pan. Think the previous owner may have been BS'ing me when he said the interior never got wet lol Its always something😑

So what is everyone doing to protect the interior of their Jeep?
Rust cutter, clean and POR15 or KBS and she's good to go

Your platform came out great. Like the carpet on it. I may have to look for some purple carpet. LOL Love your simple table too. That is something I want to do to mine too. I have the wood, just need to get a piano hinge. :D

Thanks! I actually used a 12" hinge from Lowe's. I attached to both the tailgate and the wood with 30lb double sided tape and screws to make it sturdy. I need to upgrade to small cable s instead of Paracord.

Pulled the valve cover to check rockers. Slight tick above idle is annoying me. Found a few with some lash, enough I could get them to click by rocking them around. None of the lifters leak down, or can be pressed down by hand. Going to replace all rockers, saddles, and bridges, also push rods and valve cover gasket. Dealership installed a new valve cover gasket right before I bought it, but they didn't put the new rubber grommets on. WTF?

I had that same issue with the driver’s side floor pan. My jeep had gotten wet once (had to take the carpet out to dry it), and the floor pan wasn’t bad when I looked at it back then, so I though all was well. However, what I didn’t take into account was the years of rain/snow on my boots/shoes during the wintertime. I had the Mopar floor liners, but apparently they didn’t really keep the carpet/floor as dry and protected as I though they did. I ended up replacing the floor pan out of an abundance of caution, which then sparked my desire to redo my interior. I also bought the Weathertech direct-fit floor liners, which have been fantastic.
