I keep getting these spammers wanting to buy, prb the same person, they're all the same msg, different name.

"Hello - Any accidents that you know of? Anything major? I have been having problems with messages going through here on Craigslist. If you can, send a message to me direct instead. I will leave my email below for you. Thanks!

My latest response:
"It rolled four times and landed on the tires, but that's about it.
It was also hit by a school bus full of kids. Not many of them died.
Otherwise it's pretty clean."

Don't people have better things to do w/ their lives? Really.

Their next question if you email them (I have a special gmail account just for Craigslist scammers) is:

Do you have a current history report?
If not, I suggest getting one at this website: MotoAdviceBlog.com
The report is really inexpensive, only $19. Alot cheaper than a Carfax, which is $40. The report will show any major accidents, title issues, if it was stolen, if it was flooded, etc.
You will get a lot more interest providing a report up front. Basically, showing that there is nothing to hide with the vehicle to potential buyers. It definitely helps sell faster.

I also have received emails wanting me to pay a fee to have it listed through a consignment like company.
 
I ask them to meet me at the police station to see it. Works great.

Chris , we are having a bad run with unapproved sales transactions here lately.

Whatever happened to people filling out a request, giving us time to get parts we wanted off of it, and then selling it.

We need to get some etiquette threads going. I might start one.

Good luck on getting people to read them. People don't to read. The TJ Resources section is full of helpful threads that most don't even bother to look at.

Not to mention the Sub-forum refresher course that no one bothers to read.

People don't want to read these days, it's sad, but true.

That's why I park all of mine in a busy parking lot near a high traffic area (aka Walmart), then put all the Jeep details on Craigslist. My craigslist add says to come see it and text the phone # on the sign if interested. My For Sale sign says all details on Craigslist. Cuts down on the BS emails. It took me less than a week to sell my XJ for my $7,000 asking price to get my Rubi back. I almost bought Jeep #20 last week.

For awhile Farmersonly did not require email verfication so I would just sign up thoes emails and make fake dating profiles. Sometimes it was a Daisy Duke profile or a Broke Back Mountain situation. No idea if it did anything meaningful but made me feel better for whatever reason.

Yeah, he already stripped the good stuff off. Left the lift and the switch panel I built him...pretty much it.

We had it at a WM parking lot, moving it to a grocery store that has better exposure.
