What did you do to your TJ today?

To rest your left foot that you don't use when driving an automatic. For some people the floor isn't good enough.:)
A dead pedal isn't just for automatics. My Miata has one, and I'd love to put in a footrest / dead pedal in my 5-speed manual. It's basically a requirement for any long distance driving.

I was pulled over not far from my house once for this very thing. If you want to go where the wind takes you, drive a Jeep.

I drove my 5 speed Jeep from Va to the FL Keys. 18 hours of speeding with only stops for gas. My floor does the same thing. Apparently you bought the wrong vehicle when you were searching for comfort on long cross country rides with the 3 kids and 4 dogs.

got my first CEL of jeep ownership. Took me ~5 months so I'd say it was a good run...(i've had codes but no light haha).

SO - I ordered a new crankshaft sensor which to be frank is long overdue since the thing loves to barely start, and power steering pressure sensor that should be here Friday, and I'll hopefully have them in before a wheeling trip Saturday afternoon. (famous last words)

I so wanted mine to say "LOST KOZ" but alas only 7 characters including spaces in MO. Tried other variations but just didn't have the same effect.
My new plate for the Zombie Apocalypse or if Biden gets elected President is already taken.

I've got one in my manual, there's a write-up on it somewhere here (not by me). It's from a Mustang, pic-n-pull five dolla.

That'd be pretty cozy.

I'd suggest investing in another vehicle for that kind of trip...but we're putting two vehicles worth of cash into one vehicle.

Yes. I realize I'm being optimistic creative in my build expense accounting. (Hey, I needed that front-end service kit anyway!)

So last weekend I finally got the 3 inch long bolt free from the passenger side frame/cross bar for my bumper so I could put on my replacement winch.
Took a 4 foot steel tamping bar and 240 lbs of downforce to "leverage" it out of the drilled out rusted factory nutsert care of the previous owner.

And today I bit the bullet. UCF aluminum engine skid and extra clearance transfer case skid is ordered! They even gave me the expired halloween discount. Cant wait for the extra ground clearance and peace of mind on the rocks.

Today I tore into my 03 dash, put in the factory type switch and relay for the rear Aux lights ...I like it except it doesn’t light it’s symbols, only has an in light. Really wish it did that..any body seen one that does that? Would have a 4th wire to the dimmer circuit.

Had a great time and glad to remember how a relay works again.

was short on wire and had to join 3 together to go from the lights to power out at the relay...got an idea on that. Will report back .

it went shiny in the pic, can’t hardly even see it.

Andy,

It is possible to have the aftermarket switches light up. See the below post. It does take a bit of work but is definitely doable :)

Someone else may have already replied on this, but...these work fine...once. If you later try to remove the panel they will break (I have had 100% failure on removal) so you will end up using a new one in every slot, every time you remove the panel.
It's the typical Chinesium Syndrome: They are pretty much crap but, because they are way cheap and get fairly reasonable ratings (mostly do to shills and people leaving reviews before fully dealing with the product ["fit great", "looks good", "plastic tasted just like the originals"], people will buy them 100 to 1 over a product that costs 20% more but is actually made to last.
I have started to hit them with a shot of PB Blaster dry lube before reinstalling the panel to see if that will help reduce the failure rate when removing the panels later...we'll see.
"plastic tasted just like the originals", I'm dyin' 😋

I'm not gonna lie, I was beginning to think that had already been done on mine since it hadn't come on at all....
I had the local Jeep place look mine over before I bought it, and the guy at the counter was chuckling when he told me the PO pulled the bulb from behind the CEL. I've been driving with the "small evap leak" code since March, but no CEL!
