Mods that I liked more than I expected

Please tell me more about the hand throttle. Why is it helpful? Is it easy to do?
Details please.
Crawling in the rocks and being in a precarious position might lead you to needing the clutch, brake, and throttle simultaneously. A hand throttle allows your feet to operate the brake and clutch, no need for a third foot. Simple as attaching a cable to your throttle body with a lever in the cab you can operate.

Couple things I like about it are on steep hills i can start in the middle if I have to stop for some reason and use it while using the clutch and break

its also nice to bring up the rpms and hold them steady while winching

I guess they aren't really a mod per se but I absolutely love my half doors, they're better than I ever imagined they could be. I had always run doorless and mainly wanted them for the look. Found a set with matching paint and soft uppers and I don't think I'll ever go without them again, they're the perfect arm rest height, have great visibility and back to the original reason I wanted them, they look great. I think they may actually make me love my Jeep more.

Your tittie calender is a good cheap mod i'm sure you like.

So heated seat parts came in, installed yesterday under Bartacts - very nice this morning. Not cold yet (48 deg), but enough for me to see the appreciation shown on the forum for them. The switch almost fit perfectly in the stock housing. Bad side the display (to read the power level) is difficult to see when sitting normally. The stock switch housing is at too much of a slope.

I have have done numerous mods to my Jeep thanks to all of you! I think the most useful and the one I like the most has been the bestop lower fabric half doors; plus I got them for an awesome deal. They are lite and easy to store in the back plus they give me a lot more room in the drivers seat. Really the only thing I do not like about them is that on the bottom of the door, In the middle of the door only, the rubber seal drags and turns out when the door is closed. I have tried several things to fix this but still does it.

The hothead soft top liner. I thought the difference would not be that huge due to being a soft top, but night and day. I’ve been out in 95F with hugh humidity and not even breaking a sweat inside. I remember feeling the heat coming down and the ac barely cooling in summer. It honestly surprise me how much of a difference it makes. It helps with road noise too.

Hard wired back up camera...I really enjoy the instant on, the clarity and factory look of the one I got at Best Buy . Compares to my F 250 back up camera in the mirror.
I've been looking for a good backup camera rear view mirror that fits a 98 TJ. Is that what you installed? If so, what kind? Thanks.

Best Buy sells it ... I can’t remember the name ..it’s about 200 bucks and comparable to a ford in the mirror type ...it looks factory. The key is to get one that is hardwired.

Atlas 4-Speed, but for an unexpected reason beyond the strength and gearing options. I run the 2-1 case, with the 2.72-1 planetary. When I wheel, I run with the case in 2-1 almost exclusively, and I only use the 5.44-1 low range for very technical stuff. The cool thing for me is that the setup allows me to shift the two case levers once into 2-1 (shifting the case levers can be a pain), and then easily shifting between 2-1 and 5.44-1 by shifting the single planetary shifter - which always shifts like butter. It’s much easier than if I always had to shift the case to move between high and low range.

My front camera is something I'm surprised how much I like it.. It's useful in a few situations I've found. Often on the trail I have only it displayed.

1. When all your are looking at is the sky
2. When you reposition on the trail to see where the rocks now are
3. When you are getting back in the jeep after being stopped for a while. Lets you see those annoying rocks that you couldn't see from the driver seat or if the jeep in front of you was too close.
4. Not running over the kid's bikes

Downsides
1. Depth is impossible to tell. A 6-inch rock and a 2-foot rock look the same.
2. You don't want to be looking at it while driving it throws off your planning. I only look at it once stopped. I find even a glance up throws off my tire placements. The expectation would be when I can't see anything from the driver seat.

What soft top do you have? Got pics of the liner and how it goes in?
