I picked up a set of these used for $150 a few months back; kinda weird paying that much for used headlights, but so far they're working quite well!
I'm trying to wire in the halos but I want them independent from everything else, so I can turn them on and off without the headlights or running lights on. I've got a switch that already that has power from the dash for the LED, and has a common ground for the switch; I'm thinking that means the switch LEDs and the accessory it's connected to.
It's also got a pin that says "from source with the inline fuse" and another saying "to relay or accessory". I've tried connecting the halo to either of these, as well as both together, but no luck. Any ideas on what I'm missing?
EDIT:
Well, I'm stupid. I wired it from the high beams, to the switch, and back to the halos, and it didn't work. So, I gave up. While sitting on the toilet, I realized why it failed; high beams weren't getting any power unless they were on! So, sure enough, with the high beams on and the switch on, the halos worked. So, I'm halfway there. Now, the question is, where should I tap into for power? I think my ARB compressor and lockers are running off of the ignition? I can't imagine it's a good idea to keep tapping into that, or that's appropriate for headlights? I guess I could just go straight to the battery, couldn't I?
