What did you do to your TJ today?

Well lalst week, but I put a new radio in. Same as the old radio lol. I bought a Factory Radio with Bluetooth in it.

It's exactly what I wanted and works great. I wanted to keep it stock but play music from my iPhone.

Except for the little blue led pushbutton you woud never know.

As far as all you sound whores go its a 2003 jeep with 33 MTRs. Concert Sound was not the big idea.

But I do like both kinds of music.

Country

and ...

Western.

Started experimenting with colours for my dashboard respray, I started with anthracite but it looked a little too light so I went with black in the end. Only had time for a single coat of black though so the jury is still out!

My baby's back home after gear and lockers install. Now comes meticulous break in.
Yeah, I'm paying an extra $250 to get the "REVOLUTION - SUPER FINISH SERVICE" that completely eliminates the break-in period...except for a 500-mile fluid change. That's how much I do not want to do that damned break-in.

Took it on a 100 mile round trip down the interstate to pick up some ribs (day 3 of vacation). Kinda wanted to do it for a small Moab investigative report. I mean, I've driven it all around KC, but this was different. I learned a couple things.

I hope I-70 west is smoother than I-35 south. Lots of concrete, so that is most of the issue there.

Bluetooth mic for the radio needs to be portable. Got a call from a buddy and he couldn't really hear me at highway speeds where I have it mounted on the side of the cluster. No problem in town, but the wind noise at 70mph doesn't help. I was able to pull the extra wire for the mic that was tied up inside the dash and unplug the mic from the mount and treat it like a stage mic. Kinda need both hands on the wheel though.

On the way back, I had an issue with the heat defaulting to defrost with the cruise control on going up hills. Might need to put a small electric vacuum pump to run the heat vacuum.

Check the balance on the right front tire. Don't want it shaking stuff apart.

The ribs were awesome, by the way.

The Revolution site says 500-1000mi. Billie Johnson Diffs recommends the upper end of that mileage. The break in routine doesn't bother me. At least doing this in cold weather helps keep the oil temps down a bit.

Cut a carpet tile down to fit on my rear draw.
Do you think that the Draw system is worth the cost? I have been pondering it for a while now. At present I have 2 4x4 supercentre 78 litre sealed stackable tool boxes (pelican cases for our US friends) length to length that fit perfect in the same tub space with a home made half sliding shelf just above to fit my fridge or cooler, seems to work well with the limited rear space but is not as tidy as the draw system that's for sure!
I was advised by "Mr Plod" to put my rear seatbelt floor attachment back in :( here in WA so I used two pieces of 40mm pvc pipe attached to each other at tub arch width and it works perfect as a boxes easily slide in and out under the shelf and clear the seatbelt and rear seat hardware but its just not neat & tidy enough for my OCD lol. Can you get side arch draw fillers to extend the draw top width.?

Cheers
