Looking for a spray paint that is close in color to brushed aluminum

Rustoleom makes and "aluminum" color. Just food for thought.

And here is my rancho painted "aluminum", on top of an actual aluminum genright tank.

But. If you want to dream heres the best option https://www.hardbody4x4.com/5330-tj-cj-hybrid-body.html
Don’t tempt me!

Sounds like it’s either vinyl or Maaco for me.

You get what I am trying to do though. It’s not so much about having a snow Jeep, I just want something that can still look decent and is easy to touch up should I ever want to. The black powder coated pieces just aren’t doing it for me after seeing Garrett’s.

I get what you're trying to do. I just don't think its going to turn out like you invision.

Maaco will paint the jeep for around 1,300, ca price, and it would certainly be a better paint job then you'll get from an aerosol can. You'd just need to pull the raw parts you don't want painted.

If @Jerry Bransford can go through JV without messing up all his paint I'd bet you could do the same with a good choice of lines and a good spotter. Just make sure to let @starkey480 lead so you learn from his mistakes lol.

Also the jeeps hood is going to blind you of it's brushed aluminum.
What are you trying to say 😂

I hear ya on keeping the aluminum look on armor. I like the look myself:

I think it looks good with the black, I’m sure yours will look good Chris.

As someone who has spray painted an entire car over the course of a couple of weeks by removing every panel and diligently obeying the curing times between coats, it can turn out much better than a shitty maaco job. Spray paint by someone who knows what they're doing is far superior to someone who doesn't with an hvlp gun and cheap paint (which is likely what you'll get at maaco).

This entire car was done with rustoleum painters touch dark gloss grey. No clear coat because I've never had good luck with it out of a spray can. Just prepped religiously and painted with an eye for detail. Used the existing paint (white) as the "primer".

That's more or less what I'm doing to my LJ. I started with bare metal in a few places but generally scuffed the original Bright Silver paint with 3M maroon Scotch-Brite pads and sprayed Tremclad (a Rustoleum product) single stage enamel. I went with "Gloss Grey". I won't be shooting a clear coat either. I will be buffing out a few spots and might try ceramic wax on it.

I'm happy with the paint finish and the colour. I had to stop in the fall because my Outdoor booth" got a bit cold. I'm back at it now though.
