Looking for a good place to tap into 12v 10amp switched(ignition on) for voltage regulator bypass

Apparently my voltage regulator has failed and I need to do an external bypass. While I'm waiting for shipment I'd like to do some prep and at least tap into an appropriate circuit, I need 10 amps with the ignition on. Any suggestions as to which circuit and where? This is what I'm installing...

Voltage fluctuates while driving; "check gauges "

Check gauges light came on and voltage was down to half way between red and 14v. I pulled over, left the engine running and popped the hood, all appears normal. Read a couple threads on here describing the same condition and had the alternator checked at Napa and O'riellys both said it's good. I...

    GAIA GPS price increase

Premium is going up from $40 to $60, still cheaper than OnX at $100(?) for premium or whatever they call it with private property maps. That's quite a jump and there's a lot of talk about ppl canceling, you would think they could've gone up $10.

    Another Rancho RS5000X "issues" thread

Ordered a set of RS5000X's and while I was getting them ready for paint prep I noticed a few issues: First one being one of the rear shocks had some pretty prominent burrs where the ends are welded on the tubes. Got a couple very minor cuts on my fingers. Front shocks: "A" seems to be good...

What is the best way to buy a car in Texas from out of state?

I'll be visiting Texas in a couple weeks and while I'm there I'll be looking for a used car. If I find what I'm looking for I'll drive it back to Michigan. I assume a dealer will take care of the paperwork but how do i go about buying from a private owner? Is it as simple as obtaining the...

Dana 35 pinion yoke seal question

My yoke has a very minor “groove “ you can see it but not feel it, an awl won’t catch in it. Should I get another yoke? If I get another yoke is the “ line up the marks and count the threads” method close enough?

    Broken bolt removal: nuclear options?

    Removing bedliner from floor

I’m looking at a rust free replacement tub for my TJ and the floor is bedlined. I would have to change the color of the tub and I want to get rid of the bedliner. I’m not sure if it’s a thin DIY job or a thicker professional job. I’ve read that a heat gun is good for removing the thicker stuff...

    Solo wheeling vs clubs

@DavidBT mentioned in his winch thread about not caring for Jeep/4x4 clubs and I agree. The ones around here are more focused on ducks and Jeep nights at a bar. They do trail rides but there’s usually too many ppl for my tastes as I prefer small groups. I tend to go solo because of the few...
