I am considering buying a soft top to be able to take it down by myself when fall is here. My jeep has never had a soft top — are there any brackets or hardware I will need?

Wife wants to take the jeep out with the kiddo sans top, but I want some sort of sun protection for us. The alien shade store is closed but there is one on ebay. Any clue if this would fit? I can't xref and parts numbers...

Howdy all. My jeep has had a noticeable squeak/squeal only when it has been cold out. I went to check the belt and it is tight and seems to be okay. All of the pulleys seem okay, but the crank pulley/harmonic balancer seems to have some wobble. I assume I should change this ASAP. Is this...

That was my intention but I didn't have a thin enough grinder wheel for the dremel. Will the home depot bolts work ok even though they are coated with zinc?

Guess what? I fixed it and it only cost me $1.34! I went to lowes and got a 2 pack of 1/4-20 grade 8 bolts, borrowed my brother's dremel and made a tap. I was worried it wouldn't work but it went perfect. I went back and forth a few times and kept repeating until the bolt came out with no...

Also does anyone know the exact specs for the bolt? I'm no machinist but I know length, width and thread sizing are important. I would like to try to chase the threads first if possible.

Bolt won't go in. I shot it with brake cleaner but I think it might be dirty. I will try some q-tips tomorrow night.

So random thoughts about this job after watching some videos on helicoil. The bolts are long, say an inch but only the the first two threads are marred. Could I theoretically drill out those threads lightly, leave existing okay threads and just use a new screw there?
