I painted mine with Krylon a year ago and they still look good. Prep is the key.

I have a Smittybilt and although I can remove it by myself (with difficulty) it does flap like crazy on the highway. I don't even bother to turn on the radio, the flapping noise is so loud.

I recommend that you soak it with Liquid Wrench or some other penetrating oil for a few days before you start. i did that and it came off pretty easily.

Prepping is the key. I washed mine, used acetone and sanded them. Used Krylon paint.

Mileage for Jeeps is terrible. One has to accept it and be at peace with it. You will be much happier this way.
