Both are round LED tails. The Moab pic showing the old stock taillight was before I did the LED tails.

In PNW as well in Portland and pulled my hard top a few weeks ago. I agree it transforms the rig!

3rd bulb in tail light housing stock?

Just took a look up front and nothing out of the ordinary there. Thanks all for the responses and the help. I'll chalk it up to a role my rig played in a past life and move on with my LED tail install. Appreciate it!

3rd bulb in tail light housing stock?

10-4. I've been under the Jeep quite a lot in the year I've owned it and never noticed any evidence of rust. I'll take a closer look and check the front indicators as well.

3rd bulb in tail light housing stock?

Thanks @ExitLeft ! I bet that's it. Last night after posting I was thinking about it and the wires leading from each mystery bulb meet up at a connector that was routed up into the driver's side rear of the tub through the factory wiring harness grommet. Nothing is connected to them at the...

3rd bulb in tail light housing stock?

I'm starting on my LED tails conversion and ran across an extra bulb in both of my tail light housings that does not look stock. Has anyone seen anything like this? It does not light up in any combination I have tested and the wiring does not look factory. Oddly the two unidentified lights...

Broke stub axle and drove home—did I damage the axle tube?

Well, I wasn't wheeling solo but the other two rigs I was with were stock and close to stock so they were not able to come in and recover me out of the rocks. By the time I got out of the rocks the other ear on the stub shaft was broken off. So I didn't get any interference on the drive home...

Is my anticipated cost in the right ballpark?

In the Pacific NW I'd say your price expectation sounds about right. Though I think you'd be closer to the 10k end of the range.

Broke stub axle and drove home—did I damage the axle tube?

Getting this thread back to my original post. If I replace my broken axle shaft with an OEM grade assembly is it a bad to idea to just replace the one side?

Cruise control light in dash not on

On my '05 the Cruise light would not turn on when I hit the switch. I found that I had a cracked vacuum line tee where it attached to the intake manifold. Once I fixed that the light came on and cruise worked fine. I was surprised but I guess there must be a check for vacuum present before it...

Broke stub axle and drove home—did I damage the axle tube?

Not sure about Eastern WA but the rocks I was recently in are at Tillamook State Forest outside Portland. Up in WA there's rocks at Elbe, Evans Creek, Reiter, Walker Valley.

Broke stub axle and drove home—did I damage the axle tube?

I'm running 35's and have a Rubicon Express long arm lift. The previous owner told me it had 4.88 gears. I don't have documentation to prove this but the way it drives on 35's would seem to bear this out as it has plenty of power and does just fine at freeway speeds. Driving style - prior to...

Broke stub axle and drove home—did I damage the axle tube?

Thanks for the responses. As I got a better understanding of how things are set up in there I starting wondering the same thing WRT the inner seal. As far as replacements, if I do stick with OEM grade replacements is it a mistake to just replace the one side that broke? The Jeep has 170K on...
