    Help with aftermarket driving lights

I never understood there was a different between offroad spots and driving fog lights before I got a jeep but I am definitely looking for driving lights as my TJ rarely goes offroad and never at night. Any suggestions? I have a tube bumper and recently put some 3.5" lights in the 2 mounting...

Help and opinions needed for tires and wheels

I have a 98 TJ with a 2.5" lift (not body lift) and need some direction. The downside to this thing is that is a little ol 4 cylinder. When I got it, it had a 4" lift, with 20" rims and a 36 tire. Poor thing couldnt make it out of 3rd gear. It looked the part (see my avatar) but she wasnt going...

Just to follow up, I ended up dropping the 4" kit to a 2.5" lift and chucked the 35x12 20inch wheels for 31x9.5 18" wheels. I did have to replace the control rod, pitman arm and sway links to factory. The wheels were from a modern jeep so I used 1.25 wheel extender/adapter to five the 5x5 bolt...

    Winch wiring help

Hey guys, Bought this 98 TJ with the winch on it and didnt think about asking about it or testing it. As you can see it's pretty old but someone cut the wires on it. I ordered a length of 4AWG battery wire and a butt connector/gel weatherproof enclosure for the splice but looking harder, I...

Another one of those pesky wiring issues...

This has been asked in the thread but not exactly the issue I seem to be having. I have a 98 TJ and I'll start off by saying a lot of upgrades had been done when I bought it. The head and tail lights had been changed out to LED's and a new aftermarket stereo had been installed. I put a stronger...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will take this approach: 1. Go stock rims and wheels 31.5" on 17" rims. Found a set of 5 for $120 with 60% tread. Cant beat that. 2. Assuming the gearing cooperates, move up to 33's on stock wheels and see how it looks 3. My gear ratio, I am told, is 3.xx (I was...

I bought this Jeep on whim because I wanted one to tool around in on the weekends. It's not a daily drive and I dont plan to take it off road much besides a trail ride but nothing too harsh. The guy I bought it from told me up front that it was a bit under powered due to the 35" tires (20"...
