    318/360 swap into a 99

Starting to collect parts for my v8 swap, the squirrels need to find a new home instead of my engine bay. I found an 01 Durango for cheap in my city, like sub $1k. My issue is I believe the 2000+ were PCI and my 99 TJ is CCD, do y'all think it's worth it to find a 99 donor to make the swap...

Ran out of places to put lights? Problem solved!

Now you can put lights on your knuckles, one more excuse to avoid doing lockers! Knuckle mounts

    Dana 30 dust shields

Are the shields necessary? Talking about the black plastic ones that go on the inner shaft against the tube and the metal ones that appear to be pressed onto the stub shafts. I spaced on the fact that my new 4340 shafts didn't have them until I was sliding them into place.

    Backlash advice

Setting up my revolution 4.56s and the backlash is about .010 heavy, RGA specifies 6-10. Pattern looks really good, and with the shims I have I can't get the lash any tighter without dropping to about 5 thou. Think I'd rather be slightly loose than tight. Thoughts? Edit- dana 35/super 35/eaton...

    Super 35 axle bearings

Just finished getting my eaton e-locker and 35 spline axles installed, then a question popped in my head. Do y'all grease your axle bearings with something like red high temp or let the diff fluid that flows down the tube do it?

    Savvy vs Currie lift

These are considered the two front runners for lift quality on here. Looking over each of the kits, the Currie (rockjock?) appears to be about 900 dollars more and I'm trying to figure out if I'm the dumbass and not seeing the obvious reason for the difference. From what I can tell the Savvy...

I'm trying to make a bad locker choice, need a voice of reason

Doing a super 35 kit in the rear, a detroit locker would be my choice as an auto locker is one less thing to worry about, it just does its job when it's supposed to. However, I live in northern Utah where I like to say there are two seasons, Winter and July. I've read many places including...

Inner fender or outer assembly, need advice

Looking for ideas on fixing an issue from the PO (pictured). I found a set of red TJ fenders about an hour from me, I could pick those up and hammer the mount back straight enough, or I could get a set of inner fender offerings from someplace like metal cloak etc. Not looking for extra clearance...

Midland 275 issues or user error?

Does anyone here use the mxt275? Mine recently started doing a channel-scan thing that I can't stop (it's not the actual channel scan function). I attached a video to show what's happening. You'll see me toggle the scan, attempt to change channels up and down, the hit the xmit when it finally...

Another (but hopefully different) SYE question

So I'm buying parts in prep for my lift (Currie, very excited) and had a question about the SYE, or more specifically the driveshaft. Question: Is the length difference of the DS between lifted 4" and not lifted enough that I'd have to order a new one after the lift? I'd like to do all the...

    Power Steering Pump Custom Lines

So, I'll try to keep this short. Boiled the power steering fluid on a 12 hour drive, ordered a new PSC pump. Got the one for the 4.0 by mistake with the attached reservoir. I'd like to use it instead of swap it out, but the high pressure line doesn't fit, so I'm going to make some. 1. Will PTFE...

Got to do Jeep stuff last weekend, learned valuable lessons

So I was finally able to take my Jeep off road in some Utah/Colorado/New Mexico snow.....and got stuck. I learned a lot from that experience. 1. I need lockers, spinning one wheel an axle sucked. 2. Thank the lord I had recovery gear with me. My winch, traction boards, and shovel were all used...

Spring and shock choice sanity check

Continuing to work through the TJ I bought last month, I'm up to the suspension now. Stock shocks/springs/steering stabilizer are all toast. Looking for verification of the parts I have picked out, going crosseyed from reading all day. Rancho 5000x shocks, 0-2" lift Rancho steering stabilizer...

    Can someone identify this relay?

This relay cycles if I plug anything into the cigar lighter socket. This is looking from the drivers side footwell.
