    Taking Calls on Loud Speaker

Airpods, you hear better and they hear you better. I have the airpods pro, and often drive with one in my ear. Great for listening to audio books also.

Roof top tents (Not all that good?)

Yeah, I couldn't figure out anything that would work for my wife and I without building some kind of extension. Thought about something that would plug into the trailer hitch and you could fit some type of covering over over it. Good luck, looking forward to hearing about your setup.

North Carolina Good mechanic in Charlotte

Thanks, wrote down the name of the shop. Another good one is Almar Automotive on S. Blvd across from the 4x4 shop. Rusty and I think the other guys name is Mike. Good guys, no BS, decent pricing.

Roof top tents (Not all that good?)

:) Yeah I didn't think it was going to work either. I tried that thing where people string up a hammock inside, about broke my neck trying to get in and out of that. I do something similar to what this guy wrote about. I built a platform that's same height as the tail gate. I need to measure...

Do You Jeep Wave to JK's?

I wave back to anyone who waves, not only jeeps. As far as JKs the way the jeep wave was explained to me is the newer jeep should wave first. Since most of us have TJs we're likely not the newer jeep that often.

Roof top tents (Not all that good?)

Thought about a RTT and decided against it. I've got 3 options that all give me that quick and easy setup and a comfortable sleep so the RTT just isn't that appealing. 1) A hammock, super comfortable, very versatile, and definitely my backpacking sleeping choice. 2) Tent cot (see the pics)...

Anything I should do for 2000 TJ has been sitting for two months?

Hey folks, my jeep has been sitting for two months. I hurt myself back in March and it hasn't moved in a while. Putting a new battery in it tomorrow, and I'll change out all the fluids over the next week. Just wanted to ask the collective, what else should I make sure to give some attention...

Drop-in Console Switches and USB power?

Circling back on something I started a while back. I cut my ashtray out with a dremel and then cut down a piece of aluminum sheet metal to fit the opening. Cut out a spot for the switch and it fits pretty good. Mounted the aluminum using the four bolts you see. I'm hoping to wire it up this...

Drop-in Console Switches and USB power?

Ha, I just cut my plastic ashtray out with my dremel. Trying to get my honeydo list down so I can focus on getting the wiring done and finish the install. I went with a switch that looks like the one you posted, it just a 6 gang with the voltage meter in the middle. I'll post some pics when I...

South Carolina Where to Wheel in SC?

Charlotte based. Even though Uwharrie is only an hour away, I mostly go to the NC mountains. I like more technical than big stuff, and most of the time I'm heading back in to get access to remote camping, fishing, etc. With all the rain we've had lately the trails have been fun. We were up at...

Why do some people not carry Hi-Lift jacks?

Funny, I had this in my amazon cart. I wish the base disconnected or there was someway to break it down for easier storage. Where do you keep it in your Jeep?

    3D printing of TJ parts

ABS. They prefer to use PLA, but I talked them into pulling out some of their old filament. Even it was PLA, for $9 I think I could get enough uses out of them before having to recycle.

    3D printing of TJ parts

I recently needed a roof rack for my wife's VW Tiguan and didn't want to purchase one of the $500 options. I found a couple of pieces of hex aluminum tubing at the local scrap yard and designed and printed 4 holders ($9 at my local library) for the tubing. Worked great. Also, just saw some...
