06 LJ Rubicon, upgrading to 35" tires and need reassurance with lug pattern choices

4.88 or 5.13 for the manual. 5.38 for the auto. Revolution Gear and Axle chromoly axles. 17" aftermarket beadlock wheels with the appropriate backspacing. 17" big brake kit from mrblaine at Black Magic Brakes.

Thanks for all of your help! It sounds like I've got a plan. Revolution Gear and Axle, chromoly axles. I will go with a 17" wheel and the 17" BBK from Mr. Blaine. My current rims are 15X8 with a 3.75 backspacing and a -18 offset (in speaking with a wheel guy at a recent overland show who inspected my rims and told me this.... ) He suggested I go to a 17X8.5 wheel size when I move up to 35 inch tires but the backspacing and offset should remain the same... this sound right to you guys?
Also, I have a 6 speed manual, so I'm hearing that 4:56 wont be low enough? I want to be able to hit highways speeds, 70-75 MPH at around 3100 RPM which is what I do now with 33's and 4:10 gears in 6th. Feel free to weigh in and thanks again!

NSG370/34"/4.56=2839rpm @ 75rpm
NSG370/34"/4.88=3038rpm @ 75rpm
NSG370/34"/5.13=3194rpm @ 75rpm
NSG370/34"/5.38=3362rpm @ 75rpm

4.88 is the minimum for what you want. 5.13 would be fine. There is no reason the Jeep wouldn't easily make 75mph.

Talk with Blaine about your needs before you just buy the 17” kit. From what I know, it’s not really necessary for guys running 35’s. The 17” kit was developed for guys running 40’s.

Great reference... perfect and yes, it's looking like at least 4:88s Thanks!

I'm running 35" Goodyear MT/Rs with the 6 speed and 5.13 gearing. It works for me but I've adjusted my driving habits. Since the regear I'm usually setting the cruise control at 65-70 mph and running 2800-3000 rpm indicated. If you regularly drive at 80mph or better on the interstate, I would lean toward 4.88.

Stick with the OE 5x4.5" bolt pattern axle shafts and wheels, it's more than strong enough.

For tires it's real hard to beat most Mud Terrains for the terrain in SoCal and Arizona. BFG's KM3 Mud Terrains are fine plus they're relatively quiet and have good (low) wear traits. And just because Mud is part of its name doesn't mean it's really just for mud, that type of tread is ideal for typical SoCal and AZ terrain. Plus it has kerfs in its tread blocks to help with traction on wet days or if you get up into the mountains and encounter a little ice.
