1.62" Spare Tire Bumpers

Ok so I have 31x10.5 tires on the stock 15" Canyon wheels, and I was just curious to know what other 31"ers are doing for the spare tire bumpers?

I need half sized ones, do they exist or are people just not using bumpers with 31's mounted on the back?

You're talking about the rubber bumpers? I put a 1" spacer I got off eBay on the carrier and then adjusted the rubber bumpers by using PVC pipe as spacers.

Yes the rubber bumpers. I seem to only have about a half inch of space in-between the spare tire and the tailgate. So if the stock rubber bumpers are 1.62" and I only have about .5", I need to either cut the stock bumpers in half somehow, or i'm wondering if there are rubber bumpers that come in a shorter size that anyone knows about? or if people have come up with other options for stabilizing their spare.

It's not so much of the size 31 that matters, its the 10.5 width that no longer allows me to use the stock rubber bumpers.

I had the same problem with my 11.50's. So I bought a cheap 1” wheel spacer off eBay to push the tire out and then adjusted the rubber bumpers.

Yeah thats certainly one approach! Never thought about adding a wheel spacer to the spare but it would totally work.
Good suggestion.

After you add a wheel spacer all you need to do is measure the new gap between the tire and the rubber bumper. Cut some 1 1/2" PVC pipe to the proper size, paint it black and put it between the rubber bumpers and the tailgate with some longer bolts. It has a nice clean look and the rubber bumpers will stop the tire from shaking and causing tailgate hinge damage.
