1997 running problem

So I removed the air intake and discovered a vacuum leak on the intake manifold. See the picture with the arrow to the hose nipple off the manifold. Does anyone know what's supposed to go to this and if I could just cap it off I don't see any stray hoses anywhere. Also I found a wire that was just wrapped around the harness that's not going to anything does anyone recognize that? I included a picture of my fuel rail without a Schrader valve connection for reference. Thanks.

The plug is for a hood light that you don’t have and the vac leak is where your vacuum lines for your a/c / heat blend door actuator goes…

This is what it’s supposed to look like

Wow, some of the SEs didn't even have a hood light? I thought mine was as bare-bones as they came, but even I have that.

I have a 4.0L, but I still had so many problems with mercury hood switches and the hood lights, that I went with LED's and an ignition switch. Imagine breaking down at night and your mercury hood switch isn't working.

Not everyone can be a rugged, experienced off roader, living in great mountain ranges, like you. Some of us go for the good looks and functionality.;)

That's just good editing.

In reality we're all a bunch of dumb shits running around trying to figure out what to do.

I like the disco lights... would make a hilarious transition in a video to catch a gorgeous sunset...pop the hood, flip on the lights, the techno comes in hard with an epic bass drop and a long slow fade out...

It's all good. Disco is dead. They are just LED lights that can be changed to different colors, bright white included. I have the matching underglow lights too for driving in the suburbs for the Wow factor. I like to take care of my TJ, and modify it for suburban life, since mine isn't really used as a rugged off road vehicle.
But, I try to do it with class, and I come here to learn the boundaries. My TJ is capable and people like you have shown me that and I appreciate it. But, yes, I can rock the Dual 10" subwoofer bass and show it off. TJ's Rock!

Great to hear. And welcome to the forum. Check out the 97 thread and the SE thread in my signature, and let us know if you have anything to add along the way.
