Any engine builders in the group? When I was looking at my old block today before painting I noticed on the drivers side of each cylinder a single letter stamped into the block. Cylinder 1-3 has a C and cylinder 4 has a B. The FSM shows that the stamp is supposed to be located by the oil filter boss for oversized or undersized internal components. I have measured the bore of each cylinder and they are all within a 1000th of an inch of each other. I also measured the cam bearings and found they are all different thicknesses, but I remember reading somewhere that they either increase or decrease in size from front to back to allow for proper alignment of the cam or end play (or something along those lines) Anybody have any experience or insight on the 2.5l codes? There’s a lot of information on the 4.0l but from what I’ve found the 2.5l info is a lot more limited.
