2 DIN TJ Dash Conversion

I'd like to install a new stereo in the TJ. I know people like the Sony, but I'd like to modify the dash for a 2 DIN and put in a video screen with GPS and touch controls. IMO, the Single DIN in it now looks little odd with the extra spacing.

Here is a link to a modified dash section with a 2 DIN opening. Looks great and has good reviews. Opinions? Comments? Has anyone done this mod?

Seems that if you're handy in least the least, you could just your existing dash panel to fit. Sand down the rough edges a bit afterwards or even work your way through the grits to a really nice finish. I'd be tempted to even go over the whole thing and give it a coat of decent paint.

I'm looking at similar project myself. Like to have a back up camera. I was also thinking get a small tablet to replace the radio, with this bezel it may works better too.
Following for sure.

I did my 99 about a year and a half ago with that bezel and it worked out great. That bezel can be used for the 97 to 02 Jeeps with a few mods.
