Couple quick questions. I’m picking up a 2000 4.0 TJ this weekend. My plan is to swap in the 5.9 Magnum and transmission from the donor, and keep the Jeep automatic. I’ve done a lot of research about the PCM and ensuring that it stays compatible with my instrument cluster (ccd vs pci) but just want to be sure. My first question is, do you guys know if a 2000 1500 ram computer is a CCD or PCI. Secondly, I believe the 2000 model tj is also a ccd bus. Can anybody confirm these for me? I’m looking at a donor, but want to ensure that I get it right before I commit to buying. TIA.

Yes a Ram 1500 is CCD & will talk to your stock dash with no problems.
If you can buy the whole donor vehicle as it will save you a LOT of money in the long run. Depending on what your donor vehicle model is &
trim level will determine if the PCM will work or not. If it has security then it won't work. You want a base model for a donor.
I had a 5.2 in my 97 TJ first & then built a stroker 5.9 (6.7 with the stroker crank) but ended up with a cracked block so found another 97 TJ with a Hemi swap that had a bad transmission and swapped it into my TJ... Mine is heavily modified.
There are a few forum members who have a Dodge Magnum V-8 swapped into their TJ's on here. There are about 19 wires you'll have to blend between the Dodge engine wiring harness & the TJ wiring harness.
Make sure you replace the plenum gasket at a minimum while you have the engine out & if you can regasket the whole engine. You have a choice of either running the stock exhaust manifolds or for a little more flow get some 93-94 manifolds as they are larger. Or you can run shorty or block hugger headers.
Ask your questions and I'm sure one of us who has done this swap before will offer some help.

The recents discussion has peaked my interest in a 5.2 swap. For some reason a 318 sounds way cooler than a 360. 
The power numbers are not exciting at all. However with headers and a mild cam what can we expect? North of 320hp? Can it be tuned or power chipped? The swap is not exciting for 240hp. But the compatibility with a tj may be worth the effort.
What is needed from the donor rig?
Engine, engine harness and PCM? Anything else?
Fuel pump?
Are the TJ fuel lines adequate?
Is all the wire splicing done just with engine bay harnesses?
