2000 TJ Electrical Nightmare

The software I recommended is for windows pc. The free version will display and clear codes and a lot of other things. But for $2.99 I went with the full version after I found out how easy it was to use.
But I did forget to mention that my laptop need a bluetooth dongle that plugs into a usb port, another $8.00.

I just looked and there is a wifi version of the one in the link you sent me on amazon.ca (I'm in Canada) for 26.99. Says it will work on PC and phones which is nice.

I have downloaded a couple of free apps for the iphone still havent tested yet but but they were free. I will let you know. Also since i am moving to an iphone this is good info for me too.

Bad news. The iphone that i am testing with is a iphone 7 and it doesnt even see that adaptor. So i tried to sync my JVC stereo amd it sees it but wont pair. I looked at the manual for the stereo and it says it is only compatible to the iphone 6. In the iphone 7 i was able to bluetooth an ear piece and headphones so I know it works. I do seem to have more bluetooth issues with the iphones than I do with android. I am hoping the iphone 8 is better because I have one on order,

Sorry, I wish I had better news.

Love Amazon, I bought and received this today for $26.99 CAD free next day shipping (on Sunday!!)

it's a wifi device which I wanted because I figured I could use it on my PC. Turns out that I used my iPhone because there was a link to free software in the package and I couldn't find a free software for my laptop.

I wouldn't call the app very intuitive and I had to figure out I needed to swap between my wifi being connected to the device and the internet in order for me to add the car but in the end, it worked.

the codes were

1492 Ambient or battery temperature sensor voltage wrong.
443 Evaporative purge flow system solenoid not working properly

Which makes sense since I started the engine before I connected the battery temperature sensor and the evap solenoid. I connected both and cleared the codes. Check engine light gone.

Now to put together the front end and drive it:)

Thanks for all your help!! I'll keep you posted.
