2000 TJ randomly stalls while driving

So I have a 2000 tj sport with the 4.0 l and it has an on and off issue with it randomly stalling on me while I’m driving, I have already replaced the camshaft synchronizer and the issue is still here. Both my o2 sensors are throwing a high voltage code, could they be the source of the problem or is it something else

When is the last time you replaced all the O2 sensors?

Your issue to me sounds like the O2 sensors are going bad or there is a short in the wiring.

I have been planning. On replacing the sensors since I bought the Jeep in August the codes are: p0132 and p0138

I would definitely replace them and check the wiring for shorts.

I am a bit curious though, I have only ever been able to find 2 sensors when the o2 forum thread says there should be 4

2000 was a split year. The earlier 2000s had 2 O2 sensors, whereas the later models had 4. If you only have 2, consider yourself lucky.

In the instance of yours being an early 2000 and only having 2 O2 sensors, you would use the same sensors as the 1999:

NGK #23151 - Bank 1, Sensor 1 (Upstream)
NGK #23099 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 (Downstream)

I just thought of something, would the fuel sending unit in the tank cause the random stalling if it was going bad? Because it gets worse as the fuel level in the gas tank goes down

The fuel pump, yes. The sending unit, no. That just has to do with the fuel level on the gauge itself.

Ok, I’ll try the o2 sensors first and if that doesn’t fix it I’ll drop the tank and replace the pump

Update, my jeep has now thrown a code for high voltage on the throttle/ pedal sensor. My though is that the sensor may be the root cause and the sensors are making the issue worse
