2001 TJ transfer case leak

4.0 5 speed, had the transmission rebuilt 2 years ago … been changing gears no problem but a leak has developed. Not the engine oil, I check it and it’s never low.

What is your best guess as to the leak: transfer case or transmission? Smells like gear oil to me.

Hmmmm... judging by the photos and my crystal I'd say... transmission!

T case fluid should be red,trans brown and stinky like a dino fart.

Get under it and take pics of both diffs and the TCase on the front and rear side.

As mentioned TCase fluid is red and diff is stinky brown.
