2003 4.0 manifold to downpipe fitting

I'm tightening up my exhaust and was checking the donut gaskets ...this system does not seem to have a donut Gasket... The manifold has a protrusion and the pipe seems to go around that and fit does that make sense and should there be any type of donut.

depeneds on your exhaust manifold, some are built in, others need the doughnut. If the exhaust pipe is tapered, then you should be good. Tim

Thank you that seems to be the way it's made sort of like a gas fitting.

Yep, you should be good, just use antisieze on the nuts and lock washers...

Is that two and a quarter inch pipe on these things?
