2004 Rubicon

Another FNG that bought an ol TJ. Wanted a 4.0, hard top Rubicon. Found one in Kentucky and just getting a feal for it.

Sort of a neat Jeep. Chocked full of 9th degree mobility parts. Spent most of its time in California so underside and frame in nice shape. Bought on net so just learning the Jeep.





Changing fluids now. May have some rear axle work in future though there is a lot to like. Drove a JK while back and this old TJ does about everything better.

Needs new exhaust and maybe a larger master cylinder as previous owner installed dual piston Explorer front calipers. A cool project.

Nice looking ride I love my 04 but prefer the soft top. Bought mine in Tennessee got home and had to put a cam and lifters in it but worth it. Congrats

Thanks guys. May not need larger master cylinder from reading past posts on subject. Lot of good info here.

Brakes effective but softer than I would like. I’ll run playbook on the basics and see what I can find.

Rear axle louder after new 75-90 wt. This area had the only fluid that didn’t look brand new. May have been 90-140 in before so bought some of that for round two.

A PO put a large Alpine amp and speakers in very back. Sounds great but that’s the area I was going to use for the Mastiff after rear seat comes out.

Never had a vehicle get up to operating temp so quick but it holds there.

Neat little vehicle. Can see why people love em.
