If money were no object I'd swap in a viper v-10 engine I read a article and it is possible but very costly and dangerous.

Autometer Direct Fit TJ cluster then add some VDO guages. Then a Painless harness to wire it all yourself. Give Painless tech support a call at 800-423-9696. Personally, I would do a V8 also. However, if you want to be original, start it from scratch. Especially since you have no emmision requirements. Just don't expect to ever take it out of state for resale unless they do not have emmisions testing or plan on green stickering it.
