Im having trouble deciding on a tire size, Id like to run a 35/12.5/16 tire but I cant find one that has a 16" wheel. I found a tire thats a 315/75/16. Ive used converters but im still not 100% sure, Id just like to confirm that a 315/75/16 is the same exact thing as a 35/12.5/16 or is it different in some way?

A 315/75R16 tire has nearly the same diameter as a 35x12.50 tire and is commonly referred to as a "metric 35."

Almost all tire manufacturers publish to the Internet the actual dimensions of each size when mounted and inflated.
Is the difference noticeable what so ever visually and performance wise

As compared to a 15" or 17" wheel? With a 16", you are stuck with a load range E and a more expensive tire.

What is "Load range E" And also the reason I want 16 wheels is because I already have some on my 33s and id like to save some money by reusing them on the 35s

All terrain
These are all load D, it means the tire is designed for lighter vehicle or load. Load E tires have stiffer sidewalls and designed for trucks. There's a lot better definitions floating around but that sums it up in my opinion.

FWIW, my Mickey Thompson's are load E due to the lack of tire choices in the Mud Terrain 285/75r16s. When I replace them, I'll likely be getting the MTRs on that screenshot.

A BF Goodrich KO2 in 315/70R17 is listed as being 34.4" according to the manufacturer.

I recently put brand new ones on my JKR and at 32 psi (what the tire shop inflated them to), the measure 33.25" exactly. @Starrs can vouch for this since he has the exact same tires.

So keep in mind that once they are on the vehicle, most 315s won't measure anywhere near 35".

Off the vehicle they are slightly larger, but not by much (and nowhere near what the manufacturer claims). What did you say your spare measured @Starrs? Mine is 33.5" for the spare.

My 315/70/r17s are right at 33”. 33.25” if I had 32-34 PSI I’d imagine. I run 28 PSI. My spare measures 33.5” horizontally and vertically. So BFGs measurements are nowhere near correct. The spare would be the scenario they speak of...unloaded weight I’d imagine and it’s nowhere near 34.4”. Anyway great tires, but was expecting a 34.4” tire and got a 33” tire 😀

I would recommend a 15 inch wheel more tire and rim options

When shopping for tires I always research at tirerack. If you pick an example tire, lets say the 35" KO2 you can select the specs tab on their website and in one handy chart all KO2 tire sizes are listed. It lists tire load rating, diameter and tire weight. All the details you could ever want in one place. It is an easy way to see what other metric tires are close to what you are looking for and how two tires really compare by the numbers. It's a good place to start at least.
