32RH automatic shifting hard into reverse

Not defending them but outside of a whole bunch of work and lots of parts thrown at a rig, there is almost no way to deliver a vehicle that you can predict will not have a problem of some sort at some time.

I would have checked for obvious leaked, cooling system leaks and obvious issues like swelled hoses etc., tires for damage or excessive wear, control arms, chased down known noises, made sure all the fluid levels were good, and then any major obvious defects like a broken or cracked windshield.

Since it has the 32, the newest it can be is 17 years old. You are driving a 17 year old used car. No way to tell anyone it won't have problems or to expect that it won't.

Of course, all of that can change if you pay someone to bring it up to a top reliability state.
Oh, I totally get that, there were no obvious things like you mention. I wish I would've crawled further under the body tho (missing bolts!). I don't mind paying for spark plugs and they couldn't have known the packing was gonna go. But when you say you need a week to get it ready for me, at the bare minimum there should've been a tune up including new plugs.

Depends on whether or not they have anything else to do during that week. I would not have done a tune up unless it exhibited signs of needing one. You said it ran fine, did you tell them you wanted a tune up due to how it ran?

No lol. So I guess chalk this up to my high expectations of car salesmen XD LMAO

Again, not defending them, just trying to lay out what are or should be reasonable expectations and why we don't always get what we think we should get. I also very well know how one tiny mistake can sour the entire relationship.

I had a client that I built a very nice 98 TJ for over the course of a couple years. Lift, steering install, Atlas install, custom belly skid, lots of work. He wrecked it and we moved all the good parts over to a new rig and built it all in one shot. He was back in for some work that required us to lift the body. My helper threaded in the front body mount under the grill but didn't tighten it as he should have. Client whips back into the driveway after the test drive and the lower half of the body mount fell off. He was pissed, accused us of not doing anything else right, said he no longer trusted our work, and from that point forward, he was nothing but a contentious asshole about everything including calling me a thief.

I built two highly capable mechanically flawless trouble free rigs for him over the course of 5 years that he wheeled the shit out of. One tiny mistake that should never have happened ruined all of that so I well understand perception and expectation.

Gotcha. Thanks for sharing. So true. It doesn't help that they "lost" my paperwork twice

I had a similar situation , client didn't like a condenser line placement , and went into "all is bad " mode.

Time out sir , this is flow reduction, hard ducted 2.5 ton system , that is beautifully executed..we can move the line .

Well you may consider a good distributor cap with brass contacts and a rotor, I like the napa brand. For spark plug wires, look at firecore, they maybe more than what you buy at the local autozone, but the guy the makes them is a die hard mopar guy. I am running the wires in my 68 Charger with a 572 Hemi.

There are no wires that control the 32RH shifting. It is a full hydraulic non computer controlled trans. The only electronic portion is the torque converter clutch and even then it can't lock up in 1st due to the way the hydraulic passages are configured.
Thanks, I stand corrected . Nice to know something simple still remains out there.
