32RH Question

The only way I know how to ask:
If I drop the shifter down into 1st gear of a 2002 32RH Transmission, will the transmission stay in 1st gear no matter my rpms ? Till I manually shift to second gear ?

1 is first gear only. 2 is 1st and second gear. D is 1-3 and lockup.
