35x12.5x15 on 15x8 or 15x10?

I'm planning for 35x12.5x15 STT PRO load range c for my LJ but am very undecided on the rim width 8 or 10. It is my understanding 8 wide will hold the bead better when airring down offroad but 10 will ride better on the highway? This is a third vehicle, weekend warrior/date night vehicle with trips to Colorado Utah and Arkansas a few times a year, all of which Jeep will be trailered to and from.

The approved rim width is 8.5-11 for this tire but I also understand we don’t follow manufacture reccomendations on a lot of things so that leads me to this post.

Rims will be Method double standard, this is the one request the wife has had so rims are set.

Can anyone offer feedback on this particular situation? Please also post pictures as looks will play into this as well.

8 if you like a fat side or rounded appearance, 9 if you like a slightly flatter sidewall and 10 is a bit more rim than we need to bother fitting unless the tires require it.

Here's my LJ when I first purchased it, came with 15x10's. I think they stick out too far. No difference in road handling from what I recall. The 10" rim is on the back, 8" rim is on the front. All 8" now.

This is the picture I was looking for both in same picture. But same color would help more. I’m leaning towards the 8 wide but I’m wanting to make sure as I don’t want to do this twice.

9 would be a happy medium I’d go for but these wheels only come 8 or 10

Nobody says 10 is the better choice.

Mine will cruise perfectly down the interstate at 85 if I didn't hate getting <10 mpg. Cooper stt pro 35x12.5 on 15x8.

Go with the 15x8 if you offroad and air your tires down, that's the usual recommendation. Aired down tires unseat more easily on 15x10 wheels.

I've run both and although 15x10 may ride slightly better, 15x8 keeps the beads in place best at lower pressures.

15x8 has a much lower (better)offset than 15x10 with all else being equal . The extra offset of the 15x10 will lead to a much worse scrub radius and more wear and tear on your balljoints . My Jeep came with 15x10 installed by the previous owner . I just purchased new 15x8 .

What is a scrub radius? Inside of tire rubbing frame?

Mine had 33x12.5's on 10" wheels when I picked it up, I had to swap to 6" flares to keep it legal

15 X 8 if you're wheeling anything difficult.

I had 15x10s for years and never lost a bead when aired down to 8psi. I do think 15x8 looks better though.
