4.0L Rebuild Advice?

I plan on rebuilding a 4.0L soon. I initially wanted to stroke it but those parts aren't exactly cheap anymore. My 4.0L has sat for 10+ years and is not siezed but I want to take it apart to inspect things so I'm going to freshen it up. New bearings, rings, oil pump, timing chain, gaskets, hone the cylinders, etc.

Rather than ordering random parts off the internet, do you guys recommend particular brands of rebuild parts? Any brands to stay away from?

I may also put a torquier camshaft in it and gasket match the head....maybe.

What ever you do or get id be very cautious about China made kits and parts like the shitty parts off Scamazon or fleabay. There is no question supposed name brand stuff of either of the named places is often bootlegged junk.

I generally order from Rockauto or summitracing. Rockauto's prices are killer for rebuild parts.

I love Rockauto. I tend to use mid-priced parts unless I want a specific brand. I try not to use the cheapest listing.

Not much more to stroke it if you use short rod combination and I would add an edelbrock head. 5.7 hemi valves are bigger and the same length and stem diameter as the 4.0
