6 pin planetary gear vs 3 pin on NP 231j

Rebuilding my worn1997 231j TC and was wondering if I should spend the extra money on a used 6 pin planetary gear.
Some have said it’s quieter and a little stronger others say no need.
I’m a mild trail guy so I’m not too worried about breaking it, just thought it might last longer and be less noisy.

If you had the case apart maybe it would be worth while. However do we see many failures with the 3 gear units?
