I hate the HVAC slider controls...Can I swap the panel out for a 2000 model with dial knobs?

Unfortunately it is not something you can just pop in to replace the place of the sliders.
Too bad...I figured it wouldn't be that easy.

Anyone know of any other options?? Its a stupid little thing but it bugs me.

You'd probably have to replace the whole hvac unit to get rid of the slide controls. The blend door in the 98 unit is cable actuated and the cable is connected to the temperature slide lever. Would be hard to get around that.

I saw a write up for this somewhere, I too have the sliders and would prefer the dial knobs... but after looking at the write up decided I am okay with the sliders ;-)

Got it. I haven't taken it apart yet to look at it but you just gave me an idea about something. The temp slider will not stay in the far left position (coldest), if moved there it will pop back into the middle position. Maybe there is something going on with the cable.
