98 Wrangler 2.5 flex plate issue

I recently bought a 1998 tj wrangler 2.5l automatic. The jeep ran but not right,so I pulled the head to find two valves had cracked. I decided to go ahead and rebuild the entire engine. However when I installed the flexplate back onto the engine it hits the block! Am I missing some spacer between the block and flexplate? I have a bigger type spacer but I believe it goes between the flexplate and torque converter, thanks for any help!

@Blake007 i cant answer your Q specifically, but I can show you what happens when the tranny shop doesn't torque down the flex plate properly...

I’ve checked my flexplate multiple times, there is not any crack and seems to be perfectly level. The jeep been sitting for a month now, I just don’t know what to do.

Do you have a copy of a 98 FSM?
A parts diagram of the flex plate and associated parts might be what you need.
I can't provide the link with this fone but it is on the forum under FSMs

I have checked multiple factory service manuals and spent hours online to see if I could find any information or part number but no luck.
