Here's one of me in Vietnam standing next to a C-7 Caribou we used for medevac from smaller strips. That was one of my favorite aircraft to fly in, a two-engine that could land & takeoff from nearly anywhere. Being as that was in 1969, notice the name of it... Jefferson Airplane, a popular hard-rock band from that era. Man I had dark hair then.

Here's a Cessna on display inside the uss midway in San Diego (which I highly recommend seeing). My father worked on these when he served in Vietnam. He was part of a 5 man crew that kept these little reconnaissance planes in the air. He served at Na Trang and Qui Nhon. He had been in country 10 days when the tet offensive started in 1968.

What a shame. 1st Cav was right there in the thick of things, that's a highly decorated unit he was in. I'm sorry to read about the loss of your cousin. :(
Thanks Jerry. He was only there for 2 months and kia 12/28. Amazingly I was able to find online via the 1st cav alumni website the medic who treated him and his buddy who was with him when he was hit. There account was exactly what I read in the army action report I was able to obtain from the army. Small world. I remain Facebook friends with his old by
Buddy
Ps. He was kia in song be if you are faimilar with that area.
