Alex01 Silver Sport Build Thread

That's likely what I'll end up in. My current plan is to wait a few more seasons until the tires on it need to be replaced. At that point I'll look at the options available to me.

Until then I'll continue searching Craigslist just incase a deal pops up / wait for @Chris to decide he no longer likes rock crawling and stock moab wheels are the best 🤭.

The current wheels do an amazing job and go down to 8psi without complaining. I'd maily benefit on snow runs where I could air down to 1 but those are few and far between. But man would they look good.

Wait until I decide I want a rock buggy, then buy the whole Jeep from me. $50,000 and it's yours

I'll even leave some of the gay porn Nick left in the glove box for you ;)

I’ve been eyeing trailreadys for awhile now. I’m in your boat, as soon as these tires I have are donzo I’ll go trailready 15’s.

The seats are installed. I had the wife sit in them and she said they feel much better. It could have been due to the pre heated seat though. I'm a bit annoyed that the drill bit walked a bit while drilling the holes for the seat heaters but its only noticeable if you're really looking for it. One of those things that I'll see but others, other than the people who read this, would never notice.

Makes sense. I didn't get the reclining ones either. I can't remember the last time I've ever used the recliner on any car seat.
They are set in a very comfortable position. I can't wait to give them a longer term test in Moab. I figure by then I'll know if I love them or not.

I’ve been planning on installing my heaters for 4 yrs now, this might push me hard enough (hope all the parts are still there) really wished I had ordered my seats with them installed but the sticker shock was too much. Would have been nice on our Rubicon trip in the snow. Nicely done!

I was thinking about that trip also when I ordered them. The heated seats was the major selling point. Other then the radio its the only luxury item I have.

I finally took one of the trail doors off the hanger to see it on the jeep. I need to install some wall hangers now that they aren't blotchy and I care about the paint more.

I may buy some OEM hinges off eBay and try to get them to fit. It'd be nice not to deal with the mounting system the doors have now.

Going to go to a harness or are you keeping the stock belts?

I'm keeping the stock belts. If I change my mind down the road I'll get one of the kits that bolt to the oem rollbar so I can remove it when the back seat is in.

I took a look at the oro bracket.

1 and 3 are plastic and 2 is steel. I'm guessing one of the plastic pulleys are a 76mm. Is there way way to tell looking at them?

Real time update...
I just released the tension on the tensioner and the belt feels fine now. Is it good to run it as is and just assume the new belt needed to stretch a bit?

I know there was something in the instructions about the belt flopping if it’s too tight and the tensioner not being able to put enough pressure. If it feels fine now maybe that’s all it needed. You had been running it before already right?
