Post up your strategy, trades, and thoughts!

I put it here to that's it's limited to paying members and hidden from the general public. I'm more comfortable sharing results this way. @Chris if there's a better place for this please move it.

Here's my latest trade. I placed this limit order back in December. It didn't fill and I completely forgot about it, only to get notified that it hit. Note the price :ROFLMAO:

TSLA @ $420.69

Advice; buy low, sell high!

I try :ROFLMAO:. Sometimes I'll even get fancy and go with the "sell high, buy low" strategy.

Of course they don't all work out. I closed this absolute dog today. It's been laying around mostly dead for a while.

Most of my aggressive, active trading is in my IRA account, funded entirely from 401k rollovers when I left jobs. This way I don't have to worry about tax implications of short-term trades.

I chose trades almost entirely from technical analysis, where the only input is price action. Nothing else matters. News, fundamentals, whatever, it all gets ignored. Mostly. If the technicals are good AND I like that other stuff I will size up. Like with Tesla. The technicals are great and I'm extremely impressed with what they're doing, so I'm extremely heavy on TSLA.

My PM (Philip Morris) trade is going well. Bought 10/28/25 and it's up 19%. I wouldn't expect tobacco to be a growth area, but the chart says "up."

I got into RKLB back when it was <$5. I haven't decided when I want to sell.

funny to see this thread, was just advising my 20 year old niece about what to do with a couple grand she has saved - told her to get a few ETFs and a tiny bit of BTC and forget about the money

Her bank (our entire family has accounts and a lot of money with them) wouldn't work with her on lowering the minimum amount necessary to open a HYSA or Money Market

Rulz is rulz, no room for common sense or loyalty. I hope your niece follows your advice.

In Nov/Dec of 2024 I was reading about how Gold/Silver was going to go up. It took a while to seperate out info from the tinfoil hat people that always think the financial system is going to collapse.

We decided to buy some and got it from Costco. With a big thank you cashback store credit we used to buy groceries for a while.

I have to say it's done well. I just need to find someone to buy some of it so the rest is free and clear. A lot of dealers are increasing spreads or pausing as their liquidity is suffering.

I doubt it will fall below what I paid given the shortages due to increased use in manufacturing. Its been fun to watch. If nothing else I can get it out look at it like Scrooge McDuck.

I have tried to buy bars from Costco and they sell out immediately! you have any tips??

We bought them before the big rush. A lot of stuff was still sold out. So we would look and try again. December 2024 to Feb 2025 it was easier.

Now the stuff is too expensive for me.

have yall found that you make good money on playing the stocks? When i was first working, i thought i was gonna work the stock market. I bought alot of things, small amounts as i was poor. sat on most of them, and well they made some decent returns. but no where near as much as i have made with real estate that i have bought and sold. yes, the threshold of entry is much higher, but i got loans to help me buy them, where as with stocks i could only buy what i had money for.

I guess my perspective changed and now i feel that if you arent buying 1000s and 1000s of shares, you wont move the needle much.

I buy real estate. I leverage as much as I can, make sure it covers itself. Usually put some rehab into it. I let the rising inflation take my values up.

As long as it covers its debts, I let it ride.

Yes, no reason it shouldn't be. There's nothing really political about it. I guess everything is political, but this doesn't need to get derailed.

OK. I'm just concerned about publicly oversharing details, like transaction sizes or total portfolio returns.

I'll just keep it to percentages then.

I can move it back, the only issue I see is that there's not many people who browse the political sub-forum. You know the usual bunch, but the rest of folks probably couldn't handle all the constant triggers ;)

etrade makes it easy to open custodial accounts.

Timeframe is crucial. HYSA, money market and CDs all lose money long term.
