This is thread is a "don't do what I did/chip in and give me ideas/man Andy is an idiot type thread.

My Beloved 03 Rubi sat low in the rear.

The backstory is I bought it horribly lifted .

Being misinformed I did a bunch of stuff, saved the springs, never got my lift height established and figured all this out 3 years later.

I put new 3.5" rear springs on and removed the current ones that measured 2.5", drove better, rode better , looks better, and pinion noise started.

Rotated pinion down and track bar/skid steer clearance was close, max roll left me 3-4 degrees out.

Rolled it up, got a CV shaft

CV shaft was custom made. $577.00 Ludicrous.

Had Neapco joints, wasn't properly balanced and the joints were installed out of phase.

Shop couldn't understand why I was so unhappy and refunded my money.

So now I'm after a CV rear shaft with Spicer u-joints

What kind of world do we live in that people would rather give your money back than do the job right?

I've heard the old saying ..pinions is like...(a certain body part). This one sure has been a pain.

I just bought a Tom Wood's rear driveshaft. It was a very easy transaction. They answered the phone, took my custom order, made it exactly right and shipped it to me in one day.

Yes, that's called good business.

My first mistake was moving fast and not getting it quoted with specs.

I was expecting 10-20 percent more locally , and equal quality.

Not poor balance, cheap parts, weights welded to cast iron and assembled out of phase for near double. I was appalled.
