Another Speaker Thread

So I’m working on an audio upgrade in my 05 X with the console sub. I’m upgrading the dash and roll bar to be powered off of an aftermarket HU. I’m upgrading the center console sub with a Kicker and want to run a new mono micro amp to power it and bypass the stock amp.
I’ve heard that if I just unplug the sub wiring harness I’ll lose the connection to the sound bar wiring- is that correct?

is the solution to run new speaker wire from the HU to the sound bar speakers or is there an easier option that allows me to bypass the stock amp/wiring harness?

I appreciate any ideas.

I do not believe that's correct. Pretty easy to check though, just unplug the amp wiring under the console and check the radio. When you replace the sub, make sure you insulate the speaker from the armrest console. I didn't and tomorrows project is removing the console and doing it correct this time. In the near future I plan on upgrading the stock radio, but other than the buzzing the new 6.5 sub run off the stock amp doesn't sound that bad

You will not loose sound to the sound bar unplugging the factory amp. Or let me say, I did not.

I removed the factory subwoofer amp completely and ran the HU sub low level output to a Kicker 200.1 amp and drive the new Kicker sub directly from that amp. HU allows me to select the crossover frequency and send lows to the sub and everything above the crossover frequency goes to 4 Polk DB522s, 2 in the dash in 3D printed pods and 2 in the sound bar.
