Any aftermarket subwoofer harnesses out there?

First things first I have an '06 LJ that came without the subwoofer option from the factory. It has the slits in the side of the console but has the deep plastic storage insert instead of the subwoofer box. I have recently acquired the subwoofer box from eBay and am looking to do an install pretty soon. Are there any aftermarket harness options out there or am I stuck trying to find a stock harness at a junkyard/online. Took a long time to find a subwoofer box and now I'm worried I will be waiting to find this harness.

Unless your going to use a stock head unit & subwoofer, the stock harness would be worthless.
Any aftermarket subwoofer install kit would be fine, ie; power wire with an inline fuse, and RCA cables to the head unit. And it'll be far better quality.

Thanks for the reply. I plan on going with an aftermarket head unit and subwoofer. I am not handy with electrical but am getting used to it so would a new subwoofer connect to an amplifier and then the amplifier runs back to the head unit? Or does the subwoofer go directly to the head unit and then other wires going to the amplifier?

I installed a Kicker PX200.1 amp (200 watt) down by the passenger's feet, with easy access to power behind the glovebox. Then run the wire to the subwoofer itself down the length of the console. And the RCA cable to the back of the head unit. It's discontinued now, but still available on Ebay & Amazon. Here you can see the wiring harness..... very simple.

There is an install write up here. Although he runs heavy guage wire directly to the battery, which is what you would want to do for a high wattage amp. Not really necessary for the little one I used.

It's an easy install. Perfect for a beginner. Shouldn't take you more than a few beers/hours. And it makes a HUGE improvement in the sound quality!

I can tell you that building a harness for an aftermarket subwoofer is one of the easiest things you can do. It's really not hard, and you don't even need to know much about electronics to do it.
