Any tips on installing Revolution rear axles in 2004 LJ?

My Revolution Gear & Axle rear chromolys just arrived. Anyone have any install tips/tricks they'd like to share? Going in an '04 LJ w/ABS, ARBs, etc.

Raise the axle side you are working on a bit to keep more of the gear oil in the housing.

Keep track of which shaft is longer and don't mix them up. I forget which side is what, but one is about 1/2" longer.

Thanks. I assumed they were equal length. I haven't fully unpacked the new axles.

The rear mirrors the front in axle shaft length. Driver short, passenger long.

Thought all LJ's came with Dana 44 and no ABS.

I thought the same. I thought all LJs had disc brakes and 44s, and no disc brake 44s had ABS.

I just went out & checked; I do not have ABS. No module. I don't know where I got it in my head that I did. Thanks guys.

The hardest part for me for installing those axles was reassembling the parking brake. Then I was told on here I didn't need to do that...

Don't disassemble the parking brake. That one large hole in the flange is for your socket wrench

No problem. I actually got excited for a sec cause that would have meant I could get abs back. I lost it when I swapped my Dana 35 for a Dana 44 out of an LJ 2 years ago. Theoretically might be possible to have some Dana 44 shafts machined to accept the Dana 35 abs tone rings, but then I yanked even more of it out when I swapped in a non abs Dana 30 hp and was too lazy to route the front speed sensor cables.

I installed a set in my 2004 with a D 35--they slipped in with no problem-—

The weather in Nashville is great; so I installed the chromoly's axles today. The first side, driver, took about an hour & half. The retaining plate ( or whatever it's called - holds the axle in) was troublesome. The passenger side took 30 minutes. Seemed like the parts just fell together. Got some BBQ going as well.
