Just curious as to how many people here are Multilingual. Expanding your horizons by learning another language opens you up to so much more culture and knowledge you previously didn't know.

Funny you say that. I was in the same boat as you but I recently found a way for me to make time for it. Takes me 20 minutes a day and I make tons of progress each day. (German)
I speak some Setswana, the language of Botswana, Africa. Spent 2 years there as medical staff in the Kalahari Desert with the US Peace Corps.
Someone did tell me a joke though while we were overseas. It goes like this...
If you speak 3 languages, you're Trilingual. If you speak 2 languages, you're Bilingual. If you speak one language, you're American.

I think that's funny and true at the same time. I guess a lot of other Americans obviously besides us don't feel the need to learn another language since English is so widely used. Other countries have more of a need to learn another language like English because it's widely used within the world.
Personally I like learning language because it's fun and your knowledge is enriched and horizons expanded with it.
Being that I am Cuban I can read, write and speak in English and Spanish well Cuban LOL.

I was born and raised in England ...we used to get a few exchange students staying with us as I grew up...one Spanish student who stayed with us said that she spent most of her life learning English then came to England and found that nobody spoke a word of it hahaha this is a problem as we have a different accent every 100 miles.

I learned Spanish well enough to tutor in it. I can read Greek. Native English speaker. I know common phrases in Hebrew

I can speak American and I'm fluent in Hillbilly (My native tongue)
LOL well in that case I speak quite a few languages. American English, Hillbilly Southern English, Cuban, Mexican and actual Spanish. Oh and I can add Cuban slang and American Slang LOL

I speak English and French. Learned French in immersion as an adult so accent is pretty poor at times.

...at least that seems to be the case when i speak to French people and they bend over at the waist and laugh till tears come to their face. Then they switch into flawless English for my benefit.....
I live in California and I can speak enough Spanish to order food and get my ass kicked

I speak Rambler, Edsel, Studebaker...well, you get the idea. Sadly, all dying languages...
