Young John Daly!!!
One of my retired teacher friends said this regarding drivers in general:Nope in Washington and other states you can go buy that 45' motorhome and stacker trailer ($1,000,000) and are not required to have anything other than your Class C license even if the largest thing you've ever driven is a Pinto.
Some states require a Non-CDL Class A license but I don't know what you're required to do to obtain it. Texas is one state that has a non-CDL CLass A license. Remember the CDL part is a commercial license required if you are hauling something for commerce. (Getting paid to transport items)
with the zoomy pipe and stick on trunk wing any day.
Yepper!
My dad did have a tractor broken in half when he got hit by a bus that was passing in a no passing zone. It was a party bus.Yepper!
Rarely ever see a semi or motorhome weaving thru traffic and cutting in front of me taking up all my stopping distance.
"Oh here's a gap in front of this lumbering motorhome"
100% agree…Yep, plus you get 65+ year old people buying these big rigs. Not saying you can't drive one at that age since I'm close to it but there are a lot of reasons if you've never driven anything larger than pickup it's a good idea to get some training.
I do honestly think there should be re-testing before 80… but I also think our drivers ed is terrible/hardly existent compared to say Germany, at least from what I’m told/read.One of my retired teacher friends said this regarding drivers in general:
"They test you when you're 16 and retest you when you're 80, that's 64 years of bad habits"
Driving X-country in a motorhome is certainly an eye opener as well as driving semis local to the farm.
I'll take the 70 yo in the motorhome over the 20 yo with the zoomy pipe and stick on trunk wing any day.
I'm not a fan of government anything but the dipshits continue installing roundabouts for a population that the significant majority of has never been trained to use them properly.I do honestly think there should be re-testing before 80… but I also think our drivers ed is terrible/hardly existent compared to say Germany, at least from what I’m told/read.
Heck…it’s scary how many people I know failed our crazy easy driving test once, twice or more! Like I can get not being able to parallel park… but to straight up fail it? And most of the people I’m talking about are considered smart… most
YEP!!! It’s all about drivers ed… roundabouts work great, if people know how to use them. We unfortunately deal with people that are more concerned with their phone, picking their nose, or simply don’t get the simple concept of YEILD (not stop).I'm not a fan of government anything but the dipshits continue installing roundabouts for a population that the significant majority of has never been trained to use them properly.
If we could teach people to use roundabouts and stay the hell out of the left lane when not really passing anyone, my world would be a better world.
Yep, as someone who went to school in Germany and saw how awesome honking and flashing lights works over there for getting people out of the way (most don't let it get to that point), we can do better. Also agree, my biggest frustration is idiots blocking the left lane. I wish they would start writing tickets for it (as is law in most states)
It isn't from the trucks and motorhomes...And they wonder why our roads are so unsafe…
Anybody who has ever driven anywhere in Europe can tell you our drivers SUCK!Yep, as someone who went to school in Germany and saw how awesome honking and flashing lights works over there for getting people out of the way (most don't let it get to that point), we can do better.

Understatement of the century…Sadly horn/flashing your lights is seen a rude here … it’s just politely saying hey dude, move.Yep, as someone who went to school in Germany and saw how awesome honking and flashing lights works over there for getting people out of the way (most don't let it get to that point), we can do better.
I was honestly waiting for you to say something about that lol…Don't get me started...

Reminds me of a friend in high school who had a stadium PA on his truck… started blasting that song at the car in front of him one morning
