Hi guys....anyone running narrow 33" tires? I'm planning on 15x8" wheels with 3.75" backspacing. I'm looking at 33's but don't really need the 12.5" width. Anyone running 33x10.5's or the metric equivalent? If so, which ones?
I ran 33x10.5 KM2's on the same wheel you're describing for 6 years. It was a great combination, I had zero complaints.Hi guys....anyone running narrow 33" tires? Yes, running a C load range tire will give your TJ a more comfortable ride. Thanks guys....I'm also open to a 16 or 17" wheel but I'd like to keep the wheels in the C load range.
someone told me a about this the other day. what's the benefit to running a narrow tire ?
Less rolling resistance, reduced scrub radius for the outer edge of the tire. East coast a lot mud boggers run a tall skinny tire too. Sometimes the floatation provided by a wider tire isn't always beneficial.someone told me a about this the other day. what's the benefit to running a narrow tire ?

FIFY....BFG KO2...which is an EXCELLENT tire...
I had 31x10.5r15 BFG A/T's (not KO2) on my 93 XJ. Great winter tire for the first 40% of tread, after that the rubber compound got much harder and I would slip everywhere on ice, packed snow or wet pavement.FIFY.
You're right. Generally less tire width lets you run a wheel with 5 to 5.25 backspacing. I missed where the wheel selection was already mentioned.but only if you mount them on wheels with more backspacing. I would put a 33x10.5" on a 5-5.25" wheel.
285/70r17 is an easy size to find now in load range c. Not quiet as narrow as your looking for but jk/jl take offs are easy and usually cheap to find in that size. Before the jk that size was usually only offered in load range e.Seems like the pizza cutters are getting harder and harder to find. There are a few more MT options, but I really need an AT.
So far the only pizza cutters around are the 33x10.5r15 BFG KO2...which is a decent tire and a few 255/85r16's but those are E range.
Looks good! What are you running for suspension?I’ve got 33x10.50 BFG KO2’s on 15x8 rims with 3.75 backspacing. No complaints here.
