Are there any “new” model pains still present in 97's?

Just curious if the first couple years of the tj have any ongoing gremlins that first production models are generally tagged with? Talking with my brother and that was his big thing.
Are the first couple years known for any reoccurring issue or after 22 years of existence they kind of resolved and morphed into a generic problem that any and every tj would have lol?

Only if the original leak-prone radiator and crack-prone exhaust header hadn't already been replaced by now. Those were the main issues with early '97 TJs. That and the fact that the earliest '97 TJs used some sensors from the '95 YJ with a different connector than was used in later '97 TJs.

I think there is a heater issue. Bad switch, fan, resistor, or something. But by now it should be fixed. As far as new model pains the YJ and TJ jad few issues. By this point they are pretty bulletproof. Switching to coils from leaf springs is a very simple change.

97 and some 98s had a weak valve spring set. Though by now that has probably been changed or you got one that didnt have a bad batch.
