I bought a 2005 tj with a rebuilt transmission there is 23,000 miles on it and I have been having problems shifting, when I drive at high acceleration it shifts from first gear then nothing no power it seems like the transmission thinks about it for awhile then clunks into the next gear but if I drive off slowly it shifts fine, it is now in the shop getting a transmission flush and filter replacement will this help?

The 2005 is subject to computer issues. We would need more details about symptoms, to help determine if it is transmission or computer related. Specifically, are you getting any codes? Adding our resident 05 - 06 automatic computer issue expert, @Wranglerfix
Or I should say I’m not getting any dash board lights I have not had it scanned yet.
@John walk it is your pcm. The hard shift from 1st to 2nd when cold is processor failure on the tcm side of the pcm. You can email me or call me on WhatsApp to discuss in further detail.
Hi I am a new member and can not send PM yet, just bought a TJ and it is having a similar issue. I am curious if there is another thread that goes deeper into fixing or has more information on it.
