AX-5 Leak

I had seen a slight leak coming from in between the AX-5 tranny and the transfer case ever since I replaced the transmission fluid. Today, I pulled the transfer case and some of the fluid came out. Did I over fill it or is the seal bad?

Probably just the seal.

Either way since you have a transfer case off replace the seal. Its a cheap part and easy.

But make sure you get the seal all the way in. I did not get mine in completely and it leaked.

Over filling usually will come out of the vent tube.

Thanks Boinked. I saw a video that showed to use RTV and then hold it in. Is that correct?

I did not use rtv, as long as the sides are smooth the rubber seal will hold.
