Basic steelies: Mammoth vs. Pro Comp

Looking to buy some basic steel wheels for off-road use. Any word on mammoth vs pro comp? Any other brands I should be considering? Preference would be given to something made in USA. Thanks.

Also, for mounting 33x12.5x15 tires, should I go for 8in or 10in width?

X2, and stay with a 15x8. I went from aluminum to ProComp steel wheels for a year or two and gave up on steel. I wheel on rocks and the steel wheels were always getting bent and dented enough that they would lose air on the trail. Too much time spent with a BFH trying to keep them so they'd hold air. I went back to aluminum 19 years ago and never looked back. This is a friend's steel wheel after a weekend on the rocks. He went back to aluminum too.

You guys havent figured out Pro comp is chineese made junk? We kinda get what we pay for eh?

It really depends on what "off-road use".

Steel wheels hold up fine if you don't air down too much. I bought steel wheels for my trailer, but plan on using enough psi to protect the wheels. One of the things I don't like about steel wheels is the placement of the valve stem, so relocated the valve stems away from the lip to keep them safe.

I stick with aluminum…. But check out craiger if you want to go the steel route
