Bent Push Rod

Have bent intake push rod in # 3 cylinder. The rocker still tight. Had no backfire. Tore down motor expecting to see damage to valve or piston but see only the bent push rod ? Could an injector cause this by shooting too much gas into the cylinder ? I want to feel secure I fix the cause ? Thanks

Im curious to what it is. Did you rotate the bottom end with the head off to see if there was play in the pistons due to wear? Maybe the valve guide is worn causing it to stick?

Stuck valve seems right to me for the rocker to be tight with a bent pushrod,whether it was crud in the guide or a bent valve. Have the head rebuilt. If the cylinder was full of gas it would hydrolock and bend a rod.

You can send the injectors off to be cleaned and flow tested if worried.or buy some that already have been.

I had a bent one in my last Jeep. I have extra pushrods (used) if you need one.

When you state the Rocker is still tight; what do you mean by that?
The rocker has no play on the fulcrum OR there is still tension on the pushrod ??
A collapsed lifter during higher engine RPMs could cause that....
What is the condition of the camshaft lobe for that valve ?
